Linhof Edition 125

For 125 years Linhof has been part of the history and development of photography. On the occasion of this 125-years anniversary Linhof has conceived the “Edition 125”. These special editions cameras consist of three classic lines of products encased with elegant white leather and a laser engraving “1887 – 2012, Linhof 125 years”. The Master Technika classic, the Master Technika 3000 and the Technorama 617s III have been chosen to carry this elegant and sophisticated design.

Sony A99

Nearly four years since Sony released its first full-frame DSLR – the A900, Sony has announced it’s successor – the SLT-A99. The A99 is based around Sony’s SLT design which uses an electronic viewfinder, rather than an optical one. Instead of using a traditional mirror, the A99 uses a fixed semi-transparent mirror which redirects light to a phase-detection autofocus sensor. This means live view and autofocus are always active.

Sony SLT-A99 key specifications:

24MP full-frame CMOS Sensor with phase detection AF
Fixed-mirror design SLT
2.4M dot OLED electronic viewfinder
ISO 100-25,600
AF Micro Adjust
Up to 6 frame-per-second continuous shooting with AF
A tilt/swivel 1.23m dot RGBW LCD screen
Microphone and headphone sockets
Built-in GPS

The Stylish Fujifilm XF1

Fujifilm has launched the XF1, a 12MP classically styled compact camera. Equipped with a 25-100mm equivalent, F1.8-4.9 image-stabilized lens and a 2/3″ CMOS sensor, this camera uses Fujifilm’s EXR technology to offer improved noise or dynamic range modes. The camera features a synthetic leather grip in one of three colors, and has a unique retracting mechanical zoom ring.

The rear display is 3 inches in size and features a 460k-dot resolution. The ISO sensitivity can be set from 100 through 12800, and the XF1 records video at 1080p30 quality. Fuji claims that it can start and shoot in 0.55 seconds, requires only 0.16 seconds to lock focus, and can capture photos at 10 frames per second. Raw shooting is supported, and there is an in-camera Raw converter.

The XF1 will ship in October. It is priced at $499.95.

NEW LINHOF LEVELING HEAD

The Linhof 3D Micro is a new levellng head developed by Linhof guaranteeing extremely precise camera adjustments. The concept of the 3D Micro came from the proven integrated leveling system of the bench holder of the Linhof M 679. This levelling segment has been duplicated and turned through 90 degrees resulting in two precise segment guides for tilt and lateral levellng. Via rubber coated turning knobs, self-aligning micro movements of 12 degrees are possible on both sides as well as front and rear.

An additional panoramic plate placed above the movement axis permits exact individual exposures for composed panoramic images. All adjustments can be controlled and repeated with precision. Two spirit levels serve for the control of the vertical positioning of the camera to assist in crucial architectural alignment.
