New Powershots from Canon

Canon has unveiled the PowerShot G16 and PowerShot S120 – the fastest-ever additions to the expert PowerShot range with 41% and 50% quicker focusing performance than their respective predecessors, and loaded with new features including new 12.1 megapixel CMOS sensors, bright lenses and super fast DIGIC 6 processors, plus fast sustained continuous shooting and Full HD movies at 60fps.

The PowerShot G16 comes with a host of compelling new features including sustained 9.3fps continuous shooting (12.2fps for the first five frames), fast 0.1 sec AF speed, WiFi, plus Intelligent IS with 5-axis Enhanced Dynamic IS that redefines zoom compact performance. A fast F1.8 – 2.8 lens gives this compact camera the 35mm equivalent range of 28-140mm.

The PowerShot S120 is the world’s slimmest compact camera with a 24mm f/1.8 zoom lens , offering the ultimate in pocketability and convenience without sacrificing quality and performance. With near-identical levels of continuous fast-shooting and AF performance as the G16, The PowerShot S120 packs WiFi and a bright f/1.8-5.7, 24-120mm wide angle, 5x optical Canon zoom lens into a stylish body that fits unobtrusively into the smallest of pockets.

The G16 is priced at $550. The S120 is $450.
