Leica has announced two extra-rare editions of the X2 that certainly make a fashion statement. The Edition Paul Smith spices things up with a mix of black, green and orange that reflects the UK fashion designer’s love of stripes and wilder colors. There’s also now an à la carte X2 option to make your X2 uniquely yours. After picking from black, silver or new titanium colors for the main body, you can choose from a set of leather trim colors and get custom engraving.

New Leica D-LUX 6 with Aperture Ring and Built In ND Filters

The D-Lux 6 is equipped with a fast 24mm f1.4 that zooms to 90mm with a maximum aperture of f2.3. Unlike the D-Lux 5, the 10.1 MP D-Lux 6 comes with an aperture ring which allows users to adjust aperture values via the lens barrel. There’s also a secondary control lever at the rear which toggles a built-in ND filter. The new camera features an expanded ISO range that reaches a maximum of 12,800. It supports 1080p full-HD video capture and does 11fps in burst mode shooting.

New Leica V-LUX 4 with a Fast 24 – 600mm f2.8 Lens

The V-Lux 4 sports a versatile 24x optical zoom range starting with a 24mm wide angle all the way out to a far-reaching 600mm. It also features a constant F2.8 aperture along the entire zoom range. The 460k-dot swivel screen gives you more accurate framing when shooting at awkward angles. This 12-megapixel compact camera goes up to ISO 6,400 and is capable of capturing up to 12 frames per second in full resolution and recording full HD videos up to 1080p.

New Leica S and Lenses Including a Tilt Shift

The new S with the Leica Vario-Elmar-S 30-90 mm f3.5-5.6 ASPH, Leica TS-APO-Elmar-s 120 mmf5.6 ASPH, and the Leica Super-Elmar-S 24 mm f3.5 ASPH.

The new Leica S is similar to the original, only faster, offering 2gb ram with the ability to capture 32 raw images without interruption.  The new camera also has an expanded ISO range and a higher resolution lcd than the original S2. There is also a joystick to review the images.  

Leica has also announced 3 new S lenses. The Leica Vario-Elmar-S 30-90 mm f3.5-5.6 ASPH, Leica TS-APO-Elmar-S 120 mmf5.6 ASPH, and the Leica Super-Elmar-S 24 mm f3.5 ASPH.

New Leica M – Now Shoots Video

The new video capable Leica M with Microphone and Summilux-R 80mm

Leica has announced its latest M series rangefinder – the 24MP CMOS Leica M. The company by the way says all future M models will also simply be called the ‘M’. This latest model (referred to as ‘Typ 240′) becomes the first of its rangefinders to feature live view, and offers a choice of magnified view or focus peaking for accurate through-the-lens focusing. This also allows compatibilty with Leica R-mount lenses. It also becomes the first M capable of shooting 1080p video. Availability is scheduled for early 2013 with a retail price of $6,950.
