FUJIFILM has announced a new FUJIFILM XF Lens Road Map Update. The new lenses that have been added to the FUJIFILM X-Mount Lens Road Map are:
- XF120mmF2.8 R Macro 1:1 Macro, telephoto lens
- XF35mmF2 R compact and lightweight standard focal length lens
- 1.4x Teleconverter for XF50-140mmF2.8 R LM OIS WR, XF120mmF2.8 R Macro, XF100-400mm
Fujifilm has announced the release of a very impressive zoom lens for the X-mount series of mirrorless cameras. The XF 16-55mm f/2.8 R LM WR lens gives you a 35mm focal-length equivalent of 24-84mm, perfect as a carry-around lens. Its f/2.8 maximum aperture enables low light shooting and shallow depth-of-field control throughout the zoom range. A rounded 9-blade diaphragm helps to create pleasing out-of-focus areas when shooting with shallow depth of field.
Fujifilm’s HT-EBC coating and the new Nano-GI coating improves light transmission between the three aspherical and three extra-low dispersion (ED) lens elements, virtually eliminating flare and ghosting. Also, when used on XT-1 and X-E2 cameras, Lens Modulation Optimizer (LMO) technology automatically corrects for diffraction to further improve sharpness, especially with small apertures.
The 16-55mm F2.8 R LM WR will be available in February for $1199.
Fujifilm has announced firmware updates for a number of the X-series and FinePix cameras. Full details of the firmware updates are available on the global Fujifilm site. Included in this round of updates are the X-T1, X-Pro 1, X-E1, X-E2, X-M1, X-A1, XQ1, FinePix S1, FinePix XP70 and FinePix XP200.
