New Super Telephoto from Olympus

Olympus has announced the M.ZUIKO Digital ED 300mm f4.0 IS PRO, a compact supertelephoto lens that expands the capability of the M.ZUIKO PRO series of professional, splashproof and dustproof lenses and delivers outstanding image quality under any circumstance.

The M.ZUIKO Digital ED 300mm f4.0 IS PRO is the first Olympus interchangeable lens with a built-in image stabilization mechanism, and when paired with the Olympus OM-D E-M1 or E-M5 Mark II, in-body and in-lens image stabilization work in perfect harmony, resulting in the new 5-Axis Sync IS technology to produce the world’s most powerful image stabilization performance of up to six stops of compensation.

With a length of 8.9 inches and weight of a mere 2.8 pounds it is one third of the size and weight of most DSLR 600mm equivalents. Despite its compact size, the lens is hermetically sealed in 17 places and features freezeproof performance down to 14⁰ F. New from Olympus : The OM-D E-M10 II

Olympus expands its digital OM lineup with the announcement of the Olympus OM-D E-M10 II. Retaining the OM System retro-styling, this 16.1 MP CMOS sensor body includes a 5-axis image stabilization system, a new 2.36 million dot OLED EVF and a 4K time lapse mode.

New from Olympus, the Air

Olympus announces a new concept camera they are calling the Air.

The Air has a 16MP Four Thirds sensor which uses a smartphone or tablet for its display. It can be attached to a smartphone via a ‘clamp’ or it can be handheld, put on a tripod, or virtually anywhere that’s within your smartphone’s Wi-Fi range.

The Air initiates a Wi-Fi connection to a mobile device using Bluetooth LE, which later allows the user to power on the camera simply by opening the OA.Central app.

In addition to saving photos to its built-in microSD card or your smartphone, the Air is also fully integrated with Amazon Cloud Drive*. Photos can be immediately stored in the cloud instead of filling up your phone’s memory.

The Olympus Air is $299.99 for body only, and $499.99 with the 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 EZ lens. The OA.Central app will be available from the Apple, Google, and Amazon app stores.

E-M5 Mark II Limited Edition Titanium

Olympus has announced it will produce a limited number of Titanium OM-D E-M5 II units. Details are limited, but the E-M5 II will offer all of the same features and specs of the standard model, with its top and bottom plates swapped out for dark metallic versions that match those of the OM-3/Ti from 1994. The Limited Edition Titanium E-M5 II will be priced at $1199.99 and available in June.

M.Zuiko ED 7-14mm f2.8 PRO

The M.Zuiko Digital ED 7-14mm F2.8 Pro will be available in June for $1,299.99
