New Website Dedicated to Astrophotography with a Nikon

Nikon has launched the “Step into the world of astrophotography with a Nikon camera” website for those new to astrophotography.

The website is a guide to astrophotography created for photo hobbyists interested in shooting astronomical bodies, as well as for those new to astrophotography. In addition to  recommending specific Nikon cameras and NIKKOR lenses, the guide also introduces the peripheral equipment needed for successful astrophotography, including tripods, optical telescopes, and equatorial telescopes. Optimal shooting techniques, such as fixed-mount photography and tracked-mount photography and required accessories for each category of Nikon camera—digital SLRs, Nikon 1, and COOLPIX compact digital cameras are explained in detail.

New Firmware Updates for the Nikon D5200 and D7100

Nikon has released firmware updates for both the D5200 and D7100 cameras. Both new versions of the firmware reduce horizontal line noise in videos recorded at 1280×720/60p and 1280×720/50p. In addition, firmware v. 1.03 fixes an issue that causes the cameras to freeze when the ‘clean image sensor’ option is selected.
