FujiFilm: Firmware update X-Pro2 Version 2.0

1) Prepare the necessities for the firmware update.

  • A camera to be updated
  • Make sure your battery is fully charged.
  • A formatted memory card
  • The firmware(to be downloaded from this site.)

2) Firmware version checking procedure

  • 1. Turn off the camera and put the card in it.
  • 2. Turn the camera on pressing “DISP/BACK” button to check the current firmware version.(It is ver.1.00 in the picture below.)

3) Prepare the formatted memory card.

A formatted memory card is required for the firmware update. If the card is formatted, all the files including protected files in the card will be erased. If you need the files, copy them to a PC etc. before formatting the card.

  • Turn on the camera.
  • Press “MENU/OK” button and select “FORMAT” in the SET-UP menu.
  • Press the selector button(up) to select “OK” and press the “MENU/OK” button.Then, the format will start.

  • Turn the camera off after the format is completed.

4) Download the firmware and copy it to the card.

  • Put the formatted memory card to a card reader slot of your PC / Mac.
  • Download the firmware “FWUP00##.DAT” for the camera.
    • “##(figures)” in the “FWUP00##.DAT” varies depending on models. The file name is “FPUPDATE.DAT” in case of X-Pro1.
    • Click “I Agree-Begin Download” after you have read “License Agreement” to proceed to the download page.
    • Check if there is no file with the same name in a destination of the firmware to save. If there is a file with the same name, a browser can automatically change the name of the firmware and a camera cannot recognize the firmware correctly.

  • Copy the downloaded file to the card.
  • Take the card from the card reader slot after the copy is completed and put into the camera.
5) Put the card with the firmware in the camera and update it.

New Leica S Firmware Updates

Leica Camera is pleased to inform you that new firmware updates for the Leica S System are available:

  • Leica S (Typ 007) camera firmware 4.0.0.0
  • Leica S / S-E (Typ 006) camera firmware 2.5.0
  • Leica S lens firmware file for Leica S2/S2-P
Leica S (Typ 007) new firmware, 4.0.0.0 offers the following new features:
  • Optimized User Information – Newly designed INFO screen on camera’s rear display
  • Seamless Workflow: Rating Function available in PLAY mode which is supported by Adobe Photoshop Lightroom CC, Photoshop CC, and Bridge CC. Rating function replaces the Protect Function.
  • Zoom Position Lock – In PLAY mode, the last zoom position is now saved automatically.
  • When you reenter PLAY mode and call up 100% zoom (by a long press of the rear click dial), the last zoom position will be used . This allows for a quick and easy focus check of the relevant part of the image.
  • Better Control/Easy Operation – The depth of field information on camera’s top display is now available in meters (m) and feet (ft) and can be deactivated.
  • Viewfinder information display now shows real-time buffer information with a half-press of the shutter button.
  • “PC” icon is shown on the camera’s top display when it is connected to the computer via USB 3.0 super speed cable.
  • “Remaining Recording Time” is shown on camera’s top display when the camera is in Video LiveView and Video Recording mode.
  • Mirror Up Icon is displayed on the camera’s rear display while mirror up function is in use.

Firmware 4.0.0.0 fixes the following bugs:

  • A pixel phenomenon which could appear when using exposure times between 2s and 8s under some circumstances has been fixed.
  • The camera system time which was incorrect when using Auto GPS time under some circumstances has been fixed.
  • Communication between camera and lens is improved when using the Leica S-Adapter H (lens adapter for Hasselblad H lenses)
How to install:
1. Download the firmware file to your computer.
2. Format the memory card (SD or CF) in the camera (camera menu: SETUP/Format).
3. Switch off the camera.
4. Insert the memory card into your computer and copy the firmware file to the root folder of the memory card.
5. Insert the memory card into the camera
6. Switch on the camera.
7. Go to camera menu: SETUP/camera information/camera firmware and follow the dialogue
DO NOT do the following while the firmware update is running:
1. Turn off the camera
2. Remove the battery
3. Detach the lens
4. Remove the memory card
5. Attach the multifunction hand grip
 
Leica S (Typ 006)
New Firmware Version 2.5.0 Available
This Leica S lens firmware is mandatory for a failure free performance of Leica S lenses with Leica SL (Typ 601) via Leica S-Adapter L.
How to install:
1. Download the firmware file to your computer.
2. Format the memory card (SD or CF) in the camera (camera menu: SETUP/Format).
3. Switch off the camera.
4. Insert the memory card into your computer and copy the firmware file to the memory card.
5. Insert the memory card into the camera
6. Press the AF/AE-Lock button on the back of the camera while switching on the camera.
7. The lens firmware updating process starts. To update all S-lenses, mount the lens.
DO NOT do the following while the firmware update is running:
1. Turn off the camera
2. Remove the battery
3. Detach the lens (while updating the lens, camera and lens must be positioned horizontally and lens must not be blocked by obstacles)
4. Remove the memory card
5. The multifunction hand grip should not be attached.
The Leica S (Typ 006), firmware 2.5.0 firmware fixes the GPS Iceland Bug. It reduces the camera start-up time when GPS is activated in the geographic region of Iceland. The latest S lens firmware is part of the camera firmware. The lens firmware is necessary for failure free performance of Leica S lenses with Leica SL (Typ 601) via Leica S-Adapter L.
How to install:
1. Download the firmware file to your computer.
2. Format the memory card (SD or CF) in the camera (camera menu: SETUP/Format).
3. Switch off the camera.
4. Insert the memory card into your computer and copy the firmware file to the memory card.
5. Insert the memory card into the camera
6. Switch on the camera.

Leica SL 2.1 firmware update

Leica has announced that firmware update 2.1, along with Leica Image Shuttle 3.4 and the Leica Tethered Plug-in 1.1.0 for the Leica SL are now available to download. The Leica Image Shuttle 3.4 software improves workflow efficiency for tethered shooting with the Leica SL, and allows the camera to be controlled from a computer via USB. Additionally, the Leica Tethered Plug-in 1.1.0 establishes a direct connection between the Leica SL and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6 / CC via USB cable. The shutter release can be activated from the plug-in and the images captured can be displayed immediately in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6 / CC. Firmware Version 2.1 is required to take advantage of these software updates. Registered Leica SL owners can opt to download the new firmware and software from the Leica Owner’s Area or swing by Camera West for help in person.

Leica Image Shuttle 3.4 software increases workflow efficiency for tethered shooting with the Leica SL, and allows the camera to be controlled from a computer via a USB 3.0 cable connection. All relevant exposure parameters such as shutter speed, aperture, ISO value and autofocus can be set and controlled from the computer, and exposures can be displayed directly on a large monitor screen for assessment.

The new Leica Tethered Plug-in 1.1.0 establishes a direct connection between the Leica SL and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6 / CC via USB cable. The shutter release can be activated from the plug-in and the images captured can be displayed immediately in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6 / CC, making the workflow even faster and more reliable.

The corresponding firmware update, version 2.1, must be installed in the camera to enable the use of the Image Shuttle software and the Tethered Plug-in.

Another addition to the system portfolio – the Leica R-Adapter L – expands the range of lenses that can be used on the Leica SL. This adapter allows owners to benefit from the exceptional imaging performance and quality of Leica R-System lenses, in combination with the latest camera technology. The Leica R-Adapter L is also now available for pre-order.

Leica Q Firmware 2.0 Update

 

Leica Camera is pleased to inform you that new firmware, version 2.0 is available for the Leica Q. The new firmware includes new features and further improvements. The firmware is available for downloading by registered customers in the Leica Owners Area.

  • Firmware 2.0 boasts the following updated and new features:
  • DNG is now available as a separate mode.  
  • EVF extended mode is available and allows the user to switch to the monitor image for menu control and image review immediately by pressing the Menu or Play button.
  • The low shutter speed range has been extended, now capable of up to 120s.
  • The user Profile menu item is directly accessible with the FN button. It makes it easy to access any specific mode stored in the user profiles.
  • The level gauge display remains visible when the Shutter is pressed.
  • By pressing the delete button in 1 Point AF mode, the size of the AF field can be changed selected by using the thumbwheel. There are three selectable sizes: small, standard, large. When using the focal lengths 35 mm and 50 mm in Digital Zoom mode, the 1 Point AF field movement is limited to within the frames of the crop lines.
  • The Face Detection AF mode function is improved. The camera switches automatically to Multipoint AF if no face can be detected.
  • An additional information display screen has been added, with the option to display the lower bar separately.
  • The image playback touch-zoom function has changed.
  • Double-tapping calls up the maximum enlargement / reduces back to original size.
  • Long exposure / noise reduction countdown added.
  • Three modes, Off/Auto/Exp. Comp. available for the thumbwheel.
  • Mode Lock for the video button is now available, giving the user the option to deactivate the video recording button.
  • WiFi password setting is changed and all characters entered for the password remain visible during the process.
  • Leica flash units SF 40 and SF 64 are now supported. 
How to update the Leica Q Firmware:
  • It is important to have the battery fully charged when updating the firmware.
  • Download the new firmware file to your computer.
  • Format an SD card which has at least 60 MB of free space inside the camera.
  • Copy the firmware file to the root directory of the SD card.
  • Insert the SD card into the camera and switch it on while pressing the movie button.
  • Press ‘YES’ to start the update process.
  • Once the update is complete, restart the camera.
  • Update process is completed. After the update, all previous user profile settings will be deleted. All user profile settings must be reentered.
  • During the firmware update, do NOT do the following: Turn off the camera. Remove the battery or remove the memory card Failure to follow these instructions could damage your camera!

New Firmware for H6D-50c

New firmware for the H6D-50c is available to download.

There are ‘Read Me’ files with each download so please make sure you look through these first and follow the instructions on installing the updates.

Important upgrade information!

  • If you have v1.1.1 in the camera, please upgrade to v1.1.3 first.
  • H6D-100c is not supported by this firmware!
